COMPULSIVE HABITS

SPIRIT OVER FLESH

"Now a lot of Christianity is putting the dressing on a wound that hasn’t had the shrapnel taken out."

—Derek Prince

FOLLOWUP & ACTIVATION

I’ve seen and even tried it myself for many years: to wage spiritual warfare in the natural. And what that tends to look like is determination to break some addiction or compulsion, and I’m just going to use my might . . . even as my hand unconsciously reaches for that thing.

It’s a spiritual thing; it’s not just a habit. And I’ve seen this over and over, where people spend decades and don't have any success, so they come to the conclusion that ‘this is just the way I am. I’m going to have to wait for heaven to have it resolved.’ It all comes back to not knowing God well enough, not knowing how he sees you. Not understanding at all the power that’s accessible through the blood of Jesus.

That door (there’s really no other way), you have to access it through Jesus. He’s done all that he needed to do. It’s so complete.
